Expanding on a tradition of 30 years in business together, Simplex Manufacturing Company (Simplex) has designated Santoku Aviation Electric, Inc. of Tokyo, Japan (Santoku) as an authorized service center for Simplex systems; enabling Santoku to maintain and repair Simplex aviation mission equipment products throughout Japan.

With its 55 year history of operation as a leading full-service aircraft maintenance firm, Santoku has received many service station accreditations; including accreditations from the FAA dating back to 1996. In anticipation of an expansion of Simplex’s product line in Japan, this arrangement with Santoku is an important step in enhancing Simplex service to the Pacific Rim. This designation by Simplex offers operators the convenience of having repairs completed locally; reclaiming costs associated with shipping and reducing turn around time for overhaul service.

Mr. Kiwamu (Paul) Ishihara, General Manager for the Maintenance Affairs Department of Santoku Aviation Electric, writes, “Santoku is pleased to be named as an official service center for Simplex. We have been serving the Japanese market since 1978, and this designation will help Santoku to meet the growing demand for Simplex products.” With this commitment to further support the Japanese market through Santoku, Simplex has assembled a team of 30 representatives worldwide covering more than 60 countries, and plans to continue the expansion of its product lines throughout Asia and the rest of the world.

Founded in 1946, Simplex has built a reputation as the leader in design, manufacturing, and certification of aerial application systems and mission equipment for helicopters. Simplex maintains its industry leadership by incorporating the latest technology in design and manufacturing systems from high-strength, low-weight composite materials to produce cost-effective systems for firefighting and other aerial applications. Originating in 1952, Santoku has maintained a long-term presence in the aviation industry by offering a wide-range of sales and after-market support of electronic aircraft equipment. Expanding to also include custom manufacturing and the localization of aircraft from abroad, Santoku is an excellent resource for the Japanese aviation industry.
