Bell’s 505 Jet Ranger X is cementing its footprint in the Philippines through the order of three light single-engine aircraft by aviation charter company, PhilJets.

At the handover ceremony, PhilJets Group's CEO Thierry Tea indicated that this purchase could be indicative of more Bell platforms being added to its fleet.

The company, now well into its sixth year, has a diverse fleet comprising the Bell 407 GXP and Airbus H130 and H145 aircraft utilised for operations across many sectors, but with its key location tourism forms a large part of its business.

One OEM that has been in talks with PhilJets over the last couple of years is Leonardo, so its helicopters could find its way into the fleet as the company seeks to support its expanding business.

In June 2018, Bell delivered the first three of 110 Bell 505 Jet Ranger X helicopters to China’s Reignwood International Investment Group. The aircraft was certified in the country in May 2018.

In April 2018, the Japan Coast Guard took receipt of four Bell 505 Jet Ranger X aircraft which will be used by the government agency for pilot training purposes. That same month, an operator in New Zealand received its second aircraft of the type.

With this addition in the Philippines by PhilJets the OEM is reaching far and wide across the Asia-Pacific region with the 505 Jet Ranger X.
