Vigor awarded icebreaker maintenance
Vigor has received a $7.3 million contract to provide maintenance support for the US Coast Guard’s polar icebreaker Healy, the company announced on 23 January.
The cutter arrived at Vigor’s Seattle, Washington, shipyard in early January and will be at the company’s Harbor Island facility through June 2019.
Under the contract, Vigor will provide services including sea valve renewal and overhaul, bow thruster modifications, ballast tank and underwater hull paint preservation and various machinery overhauls.
