USN logistics scandal widens

In late September, Military Logistics International interviewed Capt Daniel Dusek, (see Autumn edition 2013) commander of the USS Bonhomme Richard, a US Navy Wasp class amphibious assault ship, whilst his vessel was in Hong Kong for a port visit.

He told Shephard that the US Navy ‘maintains a presence around the world, giving us great opportunities to interact face-to-face in different places’.

These words took on new meaning when naval investigators boarded his ship on 2 October to remove him from command upon the vessel’s return to Sasebo, Japan.
