USMC looks to hot weather boots

United States Marine Corps Systems Command has posted a combined synopsis/solicitation for ‘hot weather’ tropical boots.

According to the original supporting purchase description, which was dated April 2016, the boot will be utilized ‘in both hot weather wet and dry environments from 40 to 170°F (4 to 77°C)’ and include features like ‘a partial speedlace closure system (lace-to-toe or open-toe design) with a flex “V” notch, and removable cushion inserts.’

Marines from 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marines subsequently complete the final user evaluation for a complete tropical uniform ensemble in Hawaii’s Kahuku Training Area 3-5 October 2017.
