US Army releases FMTVA2 RFP

The Army has released its official request for proposals (RfP) for the new 'A2' variant of its Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles (FMTV).

According to the solicitation, the FMTVA2 is an upgraded version of the Long Term Armoring Strategy (LTAS) A1P2 model which provides the ability to bolt on armor protection to the FMTV family.

'The A2 continues to allow commanders to adapt to new armour technologies, changing missions, and changing threats. The A2 model enhancements allow the ability for increased underbody armor protection, mobility, ride quality, safety, and electrical power generation,' the RfP stated.
