The US Army has extended its Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles (FMTV) contract with Oshkosh Defense through to 2019.

The modification allows the army to place orders for the FMTV A1P2 for what will be years eight, nine and ten of the contract.

At the same time, Oshkosh Defense has received an order for 1,065 FMTV vehicles at a value of $260.1 million.

Pat Williams, VP and GM of army and Marine Corps programs, Oshkosh Defense, said: ‘The highly successful FMTV A1P2 programme is a prime example of Oshkosh partnering with the US Army to deliver high quality vehicles while meeting cost, performance, and schedule objectives.

‘We are pleased to continue our service to the US Army in delivering the A1P2 requirements to the US Army and its NATO and International allies.’
