US Air Force exploring C2 modules for C-17

The US Air Force is developing a programme designed to optionally enhance the C2 infrastructure aboard selected C-17A Globemaster III aircraft. 

Designated as the C-17 Roll-On Conference Capsule (ROCC) programme, the effort was outlined in a recently-released draft RfP.

That draft RfP, which was presented for industry comment, describes ROCC as a deployable C2, roll-on/roll-off system, that will be comprised of two different hardware capsules. 

This includes a Senior Leader Suite (SLS) and a Conference Room/Staff Area (CR/SA). The SLS will be designed for two occupants and two visitors and the CR/SA will be designed for a total of nine
