Second A400M for France completes engine runs
Airbus Military has announced that the second A400M airlifter in production for the French armed forces has successfully completed its first engine runs. The aircraft is undergoing final preparations for its maiden flight later this month.
Airbus Military is currently carrying out taxying trials of the aircraft, known as MSN8, outside the A400M Final Assembly Line in Seville, Spain.
The company expects to complete four A400M aircraft in 2013 and will deliver MSN8 to the French Air Force in the third quarter of the year.
The French armed forces are on track to take delivery of the first A400M from Airbus Military in the second quarter of 2013. In April the company reported that this aircraft, known as MSN-7, was undergoing final testing at the Airbus Military facility in Seville following its first flight on 6 March.
