Rheinmetall, Day & Zimmermann form JV
Rheinmetall and Day and Zimmermann (D&Z) have established a new joint venture company to target the US ammunition market, Rheinmetall announced on 2 December.
The joint venture will design, develop and manufacture medium-calibre ammunition and indirect fire solutions including 25mm ammunition for the F35 Joint Strike Fighter.
The company will trade under the name Rheinmetall, Day & Zimmermann Munitions (RDZM), with facilities in Rosslyn, Virginia. Rheinmetall and D&Z each have a 50% stake in the joint venture.
