Portugal opts for KC-390
The Portuguese government has announced that it will acquire five Embraer KC-390 for the Portuguese Air Force.
Deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2023.
The KC-390 is designed for a range of missions including humanitarian support, medical evacuation, search and rescue, firefighting, cargo and troop transport, aerial delivery and aerial refuelling.
The KC-390 received its Civil Certification from the Brazilian National Aviation Agency in 2018 and is now in full series production.
Entry into service with the launch customer, the Brazilian Air Force, is expected to occur in the third quarter of 2019, with follow on deliveries to occur throughout the year.
