Oshkosh to convert MTVRs for USMC
Oshkosh Defense has been awarded work to convert Medium Tactical Vehicle Replacement (MTVR), Extra Long Wheel Base vehicles into High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) resupply vehicles.
The company will carry out the work under a five-year $14 million IDIQ contract announced by the US Department of Defense, for the US Marine Corps.
The MTVR is available in several variants for the transportation of troops, materials and equipment.
Oshkosh’s MTVR HIMARS resupply vehicle is specifically designed to support the HIMARS. It uses the company’s TAK-4 independent suspension system, and can manoeuvre in rough terrains and hazardous environments while transporting two multiple launch rocket-systems family of munitions pods.
Work will be complete by May 2024.
