Oman accepts first C-130J Super Hercules
Lockheed Martin has announced that the Sultanate of Oman has formally accepted the first of three C-130J Super Hercules on order for Oman. The formal acceptance took place at a ceremony on 30 August 2012.
The aircraft is scheduled for delivery later this year, and will be used to support internal country operations.
The Sultanate of Oman originally ordered a single ‘long’ configuration C-130J in July 2009; then ordered an additional two aircraft in 2010. The remaining two units – both ‘short’ configurations - will be delivered in late 2013 and early 2014.
