New shelter system for Canadian Armed Forces

HDT Expeditionary Systems Ltd has received a C$3.5 million contract to build 38 deployable shelters for the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF).

HDT will provide the climate-controlled shelters and connectors to link them together. They will be used by CAF personnel on domestic and expeditionary operations for medical treatment, workshops, command and communications operations as well as general living space.

The requirement stipulated that shelter must be easy to transport and assemble, and have an independent heating, cooling and lighting system.

Once completed, the shelter systems will be sent to CAF bases in Petawawa and Kingston, Ontario.
