PT Dirgantara (PTDI), the Indonesian aerospace company, has sold its first transport aircraft to Nepal in a deal for a solitary CN235-220M that was signed on 16 June.

The Nepali Army Air Service will operate the new aircraft for troop/cargo transport, medical evacuations and VIP transport once it is delivered within 18 months.

The contract was signed by Maj Gen Purna Silwal of the Nepalese Army, who is in charge of procurements, and by Budi Santoso, PTDI’s president director. The ceremony took place at the Nepali Army headquarters in Katmandu, Nepal.

PTDI produces the multipurpose CN235 under a licensing agreement
