LM gears up microgrid capabilities

Lockheed Martin is getting ready for three demonstrations of its Intelligent Microgrid capabilities that the company has been developing to address some of the power efficiency concerns of the US military.

'It is all about keeping the lights on and fuel consumption low,' stated Gil Metzger, director of Intelligent Power Solutions at LM Missiles and Fire Control. What the company is aiming for from microgrid technology is to provide a scalable solution for both power management and the utilisation of renewable resources.
