Leonardo has received a $20.9 million contract from the US Navy to deliver Instrument Landing Systems (ILS) for installation at US naval stations, the company announced on 16 October.

The indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract was awarded to Leonardo subsidiary Selex ES to provide up to 31 Model 2100 ILS with collocated Distance Measuring Equipment (DME).

The Model 2100 ILS FAA-approved and ICAO Annex 10-compliant system enables naval aviators make safe instrument landings during all weather conditions.

Leonardo is also contracted to deliver more than 500 Model 1118A/1119A DME systems to the FAA for its current and NextGen DME requirements.
