L-CAT tests Captas-1 towed sonar

Thales and CNIM have trailed the use of a Captas-1 variable depth sonar on an L-Cat landing craft in the Mediterranean to further demonstrate the system's capability when fitted to small craft, according to company officials.

During a pre-Euronaval tour of military and industrial facilities in France from 19-23 September, CNIM and Thales officials revealed select details of the trials during a capability demonstration on board an L-Cat operated by the Marine Nationale.
