Jacobs wins MoD support contract
Jacobs Engineering Group has been awarded a UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) contract to provide technical support to the Service Provision and Transformation Contract associated with the MoD's Strategic Support Supplier (SSS) project for land equipment use in the UK, the company announced on 10 August.
The SSS project manages availability of land training and operational equipment for the Royal Navy, the British Army and the Royal Air Force. The project aims to enhance support mechanisms, improving the way land equipment is maintained, repaired and stored, to deliver higher availability and value across support chains.
The contract will see Jacobs Engineering Group contribute systems engineering expertise to assist in the delivery of these goals.
Alan Seywright, vice president nuclear and defense at Jacobs Engineering Group, said: 'Jacobs has worked with the MoD for more than 30 years, and we’re proud to continue this longstanding relationship. We look forward to contributing our advanced systems lifecycle capability in large and complex defence projects to support the SSS project objectives.'
