India requests C-17 support

The Indian government has requested follow-on support for its C-17 fleet under the US government’s foreign military sales programme.

In a package worth $670 million, India has requested equipment for C-17 support, including spares and repair parts; support equipment; personnel training and training equipment; publications and technical documentation; and support and test equipment.

India needs this follow-on support to maintain its operational readiness and ability to provide humanitarian assistance and disaster relief assistance in the region.

The prime contractor will be Boeing.
