Contract extension will see Saab complete work on Gripen maintenance by the end of 2022.

OEM Saab will carry on providing support and maintenance services for the JAS 39C/D Gripen multirole fighter under a SEK1.6 billion contract extension from Swedish procurement agency FMV.

The contract covers performance-based support and maintenance of Gripen and is an extension of a May 2017 contract from FMV.

Saab will complete work by 31 December 2022 at its facilities in Linköping, Arboga, Järfälla, Gothenburg and Östersund.

The company has booked SEK1.5 billion of the order value in Q1 2021.
