Farnborough 2012: Boeing focuses on aircraft support

The president of Boeing's defence global support division has identified that demand for services may decease in coming years, but is confident it will continue to be required in light of declining budgets.

Tony Parasida told a media briefing at the Farnborough International Airshow that keeping aircraft relevant is 'absolutely critical', and Boeing is thinking of an aircraft's lifecycle 'from cradle to grave'.

'Clearly in the US the budget crisis is shifting,' he explained. 'Flying hours going forward will go down.
