Japan's military is lagging in terms of its digitisation, but a smart base experiment could begin to turn the tide.
FAB receives another C-390
The Brazilian Air Force (FAB) has received the fourth C-390 Millennium airlifter out of a 28-aircraft order from Embraer, the manufacturer announced on 19 December.
As well as military logistics and humanitarian relief operations, all of the C-390s are equipped to perform aerial refuelling missions, with the designation KC-390 Millennium.
‘This platform has already demonstrated great capacity, mainly in the transport of supplies and materials during Operation COVID-19,’ said the FAB Commander Lieut Brig Antonio Carlos Moretti Bermudez.
Additionally, one aircraft was deployed on a humanitarian mission to the Lebanese capital Beirut in August.
Other KC-390 orders are in progress from Hungary (two aircraft) and Portugal (five). The first aircraft for Portugal passed a critical design review in October.
Deliveries to both these customers are scheduled to begin 2023, according to Shephard Defence Insight.
