Efforts to save potential Type 31e build site continue

The ongoing saga surrounding the future of British marine engineering company Harland and Wolff looks set to run a little while longer after administrators extended the unpaid layoff period to allow more time for talks that might save the site.

Administrator BDO NI was appointed on 6 August to determine the future of the site. Of note Harland and Wolff is heavily involved in two of the three potential bids for the UK Royal Navy Type 31e programme which will deliver five light frigates to the service over the next decade.
