Dutch choose Airborne Systems delivery system

The Dutch Defence Materiel Organisation (DMO) has selected Airborne Systems to deliver Firefly and Microfly guided precision aerial delivery systems to Dutch SOF units.

Airborne Systems will deliver small numbers of the Firefly, which has a payload of 1,000 kg, and MicroFly, which has a payload of 200 kg to the Defensie Para School. The school is to be transformed into a tri-national airborne training school following a pooling and sharing arrangement between the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg, signed in April 2012.

Airborne Systems beat competition from Canadian company MMIST, which offered a variant of its Sherpa series
