DSEI Japan 2019: JGSDF purchases Mule light vehicles

Kawasaki Heavy Industries (KHI) exhibited its Mule Pro-FXT(EPS) multipurpose 4-wheeled light vehicle at DSEI Japan 2019, after the company signed a contract with the Acquisition, Technology & Logistics Agency (ATLA) for six introductory Mules.

The contract amount was JPY77 million ($710,000).

The Mule is equipped with a water-cooled engine displacing 812cc. Its maximum speed is 72km/h, and it has a 453kg payload if three passengers are carried, or 158kg if there are six passengers. The Mule can also tow up to 740kg. A stretcher-mounting device can be fitted in the cargo area as an option.
