Thailand has taken receipt of a single Airbus Defence & Space C295W medium transport aircraft.

While Bangkok did not publicise this acquisition,  Airbus Defence & Space did list a Thai C295 in a schedule of military aircraft orders and sales dated 31 May. The aircraft was firmly identified as belonging to the Royal Thai Army (RTA) via an online image of the aircraft in relevant markings whilst undergoing a test flight in Seville on 16 June.

The C295W is understood to have cost US$36 million when ordered last September.

The RTA already owns two CASA C212-300 transport aircraft dating
