Boeing tanker design passes milestone

Boeing has claimed that the development of its KC-46 for the USAF is 'on time, ahead of schedule' following an 'amazing' PDR that was completed in April.

Chuck Johnson, Boeing VP for air force mobility, national security and space, told a media briefing in Washington DC on 18 June that to date all milestones had been met on time.

'It's an incredible capability that our air force needs; you can't do anything without tankers,' Johnson said.

'In our dialogue with USAF we're still tracking to those numbers. The PDR was an amazing event to get to that milestone as well
