Avalon 2019: Rheinmetall offers ammo for Aussie F-35s

As the Royal Australian Air Force anticipates the expansion of its F-35A Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) fleet in the country, Rheinmetall Defence Australia announced that it was launching its 25mm Frangible Armour Piercing (FAP) multipurpose round in the country on 25 February.

The FAP round is already in service with the USAF (where it is known under the nomenclature PGU-48/B), a round that offers greater lethality in air-to-ground and air-to-air engagements.
