AmSafe acquires Hoffman assets
AmSafe, Inc., the leading provider of highly engineered restraint systems, today announced that the AmSafe Bridport Ltd. unit has completed the purchase of certain intellectual property and other assets of Hoffmann Air Cargo Equipment (Hoffmann ACE), a privately-held company specializing in the manufacture of ULD pallet nets.
AmSafe and Hoffmann ACE have been leading contributors to improving standards within the ULD industry and innovators in developing lightweight textile product solutions.
In 2009, AmSafe Bridport introduced a lightweight cargo pallet net specifically designed to address the air cargo industry's desire to reduce weight on board aircraft. AmSafe's manufacturing and marketing partnership with DSM
Dyneema, coupled with the acquired assets of Hoffmann ACE, further enhances its ongoing development of lightweight ULD solutions for the aviation industry.
"We are excited to bring Hoffmann's knowledge and innovation into our business," said Ian Kentfield, head of commercial cargo for AmSafe Bridport. "AmSafe is committed to developing highly engineered solutions for the world's cargo market; and with the addition of the Hoffmann ACE assets, we are now able to offer our customers additional lightweight products that improve fuel efficiency and reduce carbon emissions."
