8th February 2013 - 13:57 GMT | by Beth Stevenson in Bangalore

Lockheed Martin is using the delivery of six C-130J to India to both widen the scope of the programme and its corporate presence within the country itself.

The company has completed the delivery of the six aircraft to the Indian Air force (IAF), and is now looking towards opportunities including JVs and logistics support extension.

The US and Indian governments are currently discussing the details of a potential long term logistics programme for the platform, as the short term logistics contract that was negotiated as part of the original deal is due to expire in 2014.
