A400M tests airport seizure operation

The A400M has proven its capability to rapidly deploy vehicles and troops to seize an enemy airfield during a series of tests at RAF Boscombe Down in the UK.

Airbus Military announced on 17 July that the A400M could land on an airstrip, keep its engines running to allow an immediate departure and deploy a Scimitar armoured reconnaissance vehicle and a weapons-mounted support vehicle with a trailer. Up to 60 troops can also be deployed with the vehicles.
