A400M in paratrooper testing
The Airbus A400M airlifter is undergoing paratrooper testing at the Ger Azet drop zone in southern France, the company announced on 23 July.
In a recent test, the aircraft deployed 50 paratroopers from a side door on a single pass.
The campaign will continue with the goal of delivering 58 paratroopers from one side door, then final qualification with simultaneous dispatch in 2020 and full capability in 2021.
