Asian countries receive new transport aircraft

Countries in Asia are continuing to bolster their transport fleets as part of continuing modernisation of their air fleets.

A new CN-235-220M transport aircraft departed Indonesia on 30 October on its delivery journey to Nepal, where it will be operated by the Nepalese Army Air Service. Meanwhile, the Philippine Air Force (PAF) received an Airbus C295M in mid-October that will be used for VVIP and C2 functions.

The Nepal-bound aircraft was assembled in Bandung by PT Dirgantara (PTDI), the Indonesian aerospace company. An image released by PTDI showed a green-painted aircraft bearing the delivery serial number AX-2347. In new service
