Austria’s Air Ambulance Technology will develop and certify a medical module for the Ansat helicopter, Russian Helicopters announced on 18 June.

The medical module will meet international standards for medical aviation, allowing Russian Helicopters to expand the pool of potential customers for the aircraft across Europe and beyond.

The light multi-purpose helicopter Ansat is deployed by Russian air medical services, and is used for passenger and VIP transport, cargo delivery and environmental monitoring. High-altitude tests of Ansat have been successfully completed, which confirm the possibility of its operation in mountainous terrain at altitudes up to 3,500 meters. The helicopter can be operated in a temperature range between -45 and +50 degrees Celsius.
