Liebherr-Aerospace to provide cooling system for VRT500
Liebherr-Aerospace has signed an agreement with Russian Helicopters’ VR-Technologies subsidiary to supply the environmental control system for the VRT500 helicopter.
‘We are thrilled to have been awarded this contract by VR-Technologies,’ Nicolas Bonleux, chief commercial officer of Liebherr-Aerospace & Transportation, said.
‘We have built a solid reputation in the helicopter market by supplying various systems to our customers. The addition of VR-Technologies to our portfolio is an honour, and we look forward to serving them.’
‘This is a new milestone for us and we are happy to lock hands with an industry leader such as Liebherr-Aerospace,’ Alexander Okhonko, General Manager of VR-Technologies, added.
‘We are paving our way to a new development, reaching a broader global customer network; thus, having strong and well-respected supplier network by our side is of the utmost importance to us.’
This deal will also include the cooling for the light single-engine helicopter, Liebherr-Aerospace says, adding that forecasted deliveries of the VRT500 are ‘quite solid’.
The VRT500 is a five-passenger, light single-engine multipurpose helicopter that is expected to be certified by EASA soon, and has a cruise speed of 225km/h and a max range of 860km.
