Helitech 2017: HeliSpeed contract awards signal global footprint increase
HeliSpeed continues to grow following the award of two contracts to provide its services to ITC Aero-Leasing of Japan and United Helicopter Services of Portugal.
The contracts were signed in September and June 2017 respectively, the company told Shephard.
HeliSpeed, a global pilot provider, supports a number of international ferry flights, flight tests and other ad hoc pilot requirements across the globe.
The UK-based company has a database of 300 pilots within 26 different licencing authorities.
‘We aim to offer a turnkey package to our customers, and provide a one-stop shop,’ said Geoff Packer, CEO at HeliSpeed.
Recently, the company moved a Sikorsky S-92 from Greenland to Brazil, an operation that typically takes up to five days. Packer also confirmed that HeliSpeed had been tasked with relocating aircraft from the UK to Africa.
In addition, the company provides pilots for flight testing at the end of a maintenance period or in the context of an aircraft lease or sale. Packer said that there are a number of MROs present at Helitech International to which the company supplies pilots for rotorcraft testing.
The company received ISO9001:2015 certification in March 2017, meaning there is an approved company structure and quality control in place to meet this demanding industry standard.
Furthermore, HeliSpeed is able to supply customised training programmes to support customers and their pilots with PPL, CPL and ATPL(H) qualifications on any type of helicopter and for specific mission profiles.
HeliSpeed offers HeliTrax, a complete system for tracking, search and selection. It provides operators with mission and aircraft information, enabling them to view real-time data on the HeliSpeed pilots who are supporting the required mission.
