DRF Luftrettung has received certification from the European Aeromedical Institute (EURAMI), confirming that the organisation’s emergency rescue operations meet medical and flight operations standards.

EURAMI has awarded its equivalent Rotary Wing and Intercontinental Fixed Wing certificate, accrediting DRF Luftrettung for international ambulance operations for the intensive care of adults, children and newborns.

For flight operations, the charitable organisation is now certified for ICU (Overload Helicopter), helicopter emergency medical care, and adult extended-care intensive care.

Michael Zürn, head of quality management at DRF Luftrettung, said: ‘In ambulance operations, we are increasingly receiving requests from international customers for the EURAMI accreditation… Certification is therefore an important argument in our competition. We can show that we consistently implement the standards for emergency rescue defined for our work.’

DRF Luftrettung is a German helicopter EMS operator which provides emergency rescue and intensive care transport, including rescue winch operation, from bases throughout Germany and Austria. It uses a fleet of H145 helicopters.
