MRAP support drawdown

As the expected drawdown of US forces in Afghanistan gathers pace, the reduction in the number of troops and vehicles in the Middle East has led to the cancellation of an MRAP logistics draft RfP this month.

The plan was to provide services for all MRAPs in the region under a Joint Logistics Integrator (JLI) contract to improve operational readiness. However, in a statement, the US Army TACOM Life Cycle Management Command said that an ‘accelerated drawdown plan’ would ‘dramatically reduce personnel requirements’ and that a competitively selected contractor would not be chosen to carry out the JLI contract before
