Kuwait requests continued C-17 logistics support
The US State Department has made a determination approving a potential foreign military sale of C-17 logistics support services and equipment to Kuwait, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency announced on 13 October.
In a package worth up to $342.6 million, Kuwait has requested three years of follow-on support with option for an additional two years for its two C-17 aircraft. The request includes participation in the Globemaster III integrated sustainment programme, contract logistic support, Class I modifications and kits support, in-country contractor support, alternate mission equipment, modification and retrofit, software support, aircraft maintenance and technical support.
The package request also includes installation of satellite antenna, Mode 5, plus installation and sustainment, automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast out and other logistics and programme support.
If the deal goes ahead, Boeing will be the prime contractor.
