The Ministry of Defence of Finland has given the go ahead to conclude a contract for the modification of navigation and identification systems on its C295M transport aircraft fleet.

The contract with Airbus Defense and Space will ensure the aircraft complies with updated European airspace control and surveillance system requirements, and improve flight safety.

The total value of the procurement is approximately €4.2 million, and deliveries are planned for the years 2018-2020.

The C295M is the Finnish Air Force's largest aircraft, with three aircraft currently in use.
