DLA Distribution opens site in Japan
The Defense Logistics Agency Distribution recently opened its newest facility in Iwakuni, Japan, to decrease customer wait times for critical material by pre-positioning it on site, reduce investment and transportation costs to the military services, and increase readiness for troops in the area of responsibility.
Comprised of more than 10,000 military and civilian employees, DLA Distribution is the main provider of global distribution support to America's military and other federal agencies, the organisation is located in nine countries and 17 states and territories, delivering supply chain solutions, including receiving, storing and issuing supplies to increase warfighter readiness.
