AECOM has received one of six indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ), multiple award services contracts from the US Defense Threat Reduction Agency to provide support for the US Cooperative Threat Reduction programme, the company announced on 18 July.

The programme intends to partner with countries to reduce the threat from weapons of mass destruction and related materials, technologies, facilities and expertise.

The IDIQ contract was awarded through AECOM URS Federal Services International subsidiary, which will perform work at various locations globally. Performance on task orders issued under the IDIQ may continue for three years past the last ordering date of the IDIQ contracts. The maximum ceiling including the five-year base period of performance and extension options for all six contracts combined is $970 million.

Under the contract, AECOM will provide training, architectural, engineering, facilities maintenance, programme management and sustainment and acquisition management support.

John Vollmer, president of AECOM Management Services group, said: ‘We are pleased to have been selected for this work, which allows us to continue our 20-plus year history of supporting the US Cooperative Threat Reduction programme. This award highlights AECOM experience and expertise in supporting the Defense Threat Reduction Agency’s important mission of making our world a safer place.’
