The Airlift division of AAR will provide vertical replenishment (VERTREP) services to the US Military Sealift Command’s (MSC’s) 5th and 7th Fleets in the Mediterranean Sea, Arabian Gulf, and Indian and Western Pacific oceans under a $34 million contract announced on 9 June.

The contract will see AAR Airlift continue its support of the ocean transportation operations MSC performs on behalf of the US Navy and Department of Defense – a role it has carried out since 2007.

VERTREP services include ship-to-shore replenishment, ship-to-ship underway replenishment, search and rescue, and support for humanitarian aid operations for MSC. AAR Airlift will also provide two helicopters, personnel, and operational and technical support to the detachment.

Randy J Martinez, president and CEO, Airlift Group, said: ‘AAR Airlift Group has provided exceptional service to the US Navy at an excellent value for seven consecutive years. We’re honoured to be awarded another contract to provide this critical service for our military personnel.’
