China’s People’s Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) has carried out airborne and air delivery training with the Y-20 heavy transport aircraft, China’s Ministry of National Defence announced on 8 May.

The training will help the air force deliver on its plans for the aircraft, which include strategic delivery and long-distance airborne combat.

The Y-20 entered service with the PLAAF in July 2016. The aircraft has a maximum take-off weight of around 200t with a range of 5,200km.
