BAE to expand operations in Alabama
BAE Systems is expanding its operations in Huntsville, Alabama, with a $45.5 million investment project, the company announced on 16 July.
The company has planned a multi-phase development that includes the immediate expansion of site offices and the development of a new manufacturing and office space facility.
The new 83,000 square foot facility will include engineering development space, manufacturing space and laboratory space to support new programmes and existing business in precision munitions and aircraft survivability technology. A 20-acre lot for the building will also provide expansion room for phased growth in the future.
Construction of the new building will begin in 2018 and is expected to be completed by 2019.
