Marine Corps ExFOB explores thermal management issues

As the fifth in the series of semi-annual Experimental Forward Operating Base (ExFOB) investigations, ExFOB 2012-2 was held this week at Camp Pendleton, California. The event is designed to identify commercial technologies that hold the promise of increasing US Marine Corps (USMC) self-sufficiency while reducing logistical burdens.

Led by the Marine Corps Warfighting Lab -- in collaboration with the Marine Corps Expeditionary Energy Office, Marine Corps Systems Command and the Office of Naval Research -- ExFOB brings together stakeholders from across the USMC’s requirements, acquisition, and technology-development communities to quickly evaluate and deploy technologies to reduce the need for ‘liquid
