AKV has received EASA STC approval for the ETM1000 on the Bell 204B and 205A-1 helicopters, the company announced on 4 August.

The ETM1000 has already been approved for the AS350; these latest aircraft have been added to the STC under an Approved Model List. The Bell 206B/L and 407 are currently undergoing flight testing with STC approval expected in 2016.

The ETM1000 is an exceedance and trend Monitor Engine Data Acquisition Unit (EDAU). It is designed to provide legacy operators with an effective means to monitor and record all drive train parameters for exceedances as well as trending purposes.

The ETM1000 is programmed with the Rotorcraft Flight Manual operating limitations and includes panel mounted pushbutton annunciators that provide caution and warning indication to the pilot. Configurable alert tones are activated when operating in close proximity to take-off and transient limits; configurable pre-caution parameters for each of the recordable signals can provide earlier warnings if desired.

The ETM1000 also has a dedicated power check pushbutton along with system health indication.
