Heli-Union, a global helicopter service provider, has been making gains worldwide with a number of contracts signed in Q4 2018. Fully compliant with IOGP standards, the company provides turnkey helicopter services from aircraft preparation, mobilisation to utilisation.

One long-term contract is with Perenco, which has Heli-Union providing crew change and medevac flights from facilities in onshore and offshore Port Gentil, Gabon. Operations began in October, with two medium types as the primary and back-up helicopters.

The company has been active in Gabon since 1975, providing offshore helicopter services to oils and gas clients in Africa.

In November 2018, Heli-Union provided two more medium helicopters for crew transfer and medevac purposes, this time to Total E&P Bulgaria. The contract was for two months, in support of Total's exploration campaign. The helicopters flew from Varna international airport to the Bulgarian Exclusive Economic Zone of the Black Sea, to Total E&P Bulgaria’s deepwater offshore block Han Asparuh.

In December last year, Heli-Union rounded off it’s 2018 activities with a further transport and medevac operation in French Guiana. The company also opened a new base in Felix-Eboué Airport, Cayenne. Expected to be complete in 2019, this contract also comprised of two medium type helicopters.

Jonathan Cosson, deputy MD of Heli-Union, commented: ‘As a French helicopter service provider, we are proud to be able to operate within French overseas territories and to contribute to the development of the French energy industry. This includes conducting operations responsibly while constantly seeking to minimise environmental risk with full transparency.’
