Air Shasta has taken delivery of its first Eagle 407HP helicopter, Eagle Copters announced on 25 September.

The Eagle 407HP is an engine upgrade over the standard Bell 407, replacing the Rolls Royce engine with a Honeywell HTS900.

Air Shasta plans to take advantage of the increased payload and improved hot/high performance of the Eagle 407HP in firefighting, wildlife, and utility contracting.

Casey Ross, VP of operations, Air Shasta, said: ‘While operating in hot and high conditions in Northern California, increased performance becomes a requirement to fulfil missions. We are confident the Eagle 407HP will give us that competitive edge.’
